The Orient Express are doing The Mongol Rally 2008.

What does the rally involve? Driving an old banger under 1000cc, bought for as little as possible, some 8000 to 10000 miles (about a third of the way round the world), over a period of 3 to 4 weeks, hopefully!, along 'roads', most of which are politely described as little better than dirt tracks (we must be Mad!!).  And all this to raise lots and lots of money for charity!

The comment on the rally's official web site is:- 'We can't guarantee your arrival at the finish line in Ulaanbaatar, or your safety.'.

This year there are some 300 cars (and motor bikes up to 125cc) taking part mostly from Hyde Park, London and the remainder from other locations in Europe and it all starts on 19th July 2008, so BE THERE to see them all off.
